FPC Norman is an active mission church!
Our activities include several local projects.

One of our favorites is the Thrift Shop in Norman, OK. Come and visit us!
We also serve meals at Food and Shelter as well as support the Urban Mission back-to-school backpack program.

We also like to travel. FPCN has a sister congregation in the Dominican Republic in the city of Los Mina’s. The mission committee organizes a trip to visit them regularly, often bringing needed dental care and offering our assistance with the challenges of their school and community.

But our first love is still Norman, Oklahoma, where we can be found walking in the Crop Walk and working for social justice with the Xenia Institute.

Consider joining us in our efforts to make Norman a better place.

Goals of the Mission Committee at First Presbyterian Church, Norman:

1.) To work together to support the promotion of social justice and the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God (see Book of Order 2015-2017, F-1.0304).

2.) To involve FPCN members in mission and service projects in our community as well as nationally and globally, encouraging them to “go, see, serve and learn.”

3.) To educate, inform, and motivate FPCN members about the purpose and impact of mission projects as well as their possible role in them.

4.) To remain flexible and responsive to needs that may arise.

5.) To expand the current mission projects and to explore potential mission projects to include increased member participation and financial resources.

6.) To review and evaluate mission projects to determine the needed resources and their impact.
