FPC Norman is an active mission church!
Our activities include several local projects.
First Presbyterian is active in our community, we serve meals at Food and Shelter as well as support the Urban Mission back-to-school backpack program and our Adopt a School project in partnership with Wilson Elementary School.
Our members can be found walking in the Crop Walk, feeding those who are hungry, providing Christmas gifts to families who might not have them otherwise, tutoring children and doing what we can to support those in need in our community.
Consider joining us in our efforts to make Norman a better place.
Our church offers service and support to our community through the Presbyterian Women’s Thrift Shop. Come and visit us!
We also like to travel. FPCN has a sister congregation in the Dominican Republic in the city of Los Mina’s. The mission committee organizes a trip to visit them regularly, often bringing needed dental care and offering our assistance with the challenges of their school and community.
SOCIAL JUSTICE MINISTRIES
Our Social Justice sub-committee can be found working for social justice in partnership with the Xenia Institute, and providing opportunities to explore social justice with our neighbors in the Norman community through lectures, visits with one another, and through service.
Our church participates in the Presbyterian Church (USA)’s annual Special Offerings. These are taken up quarterly and include:
